Belmont, MA Robert Welch 1958-1966 4th ed Hardcover Very Good+ with no dust jacket
Either a complete run, or missing one issue (December 1962 may be missing, or may not have been published. I could not find a copy. ) Bound in red cloth, with numerous former owner's name stamps on endpapers of bindings, and throughout the issues, particularly in the first 6 volumes. The magazines have been trimmed in the binding process, with no loss of text or graphics. An exceptional run of the first 9 years of this political magazine, edited by the founder of the John Birch Society. The articles are deeply conservative, but also give of flavor of the nation's political debates through the late 1950's and early 1960's. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; Volume 1: numbers 6 & 10 are ink underlined (10 issues in volume). Volume 2: numbers 2,5,8,9,10 have ink underlining. (11 issues in volume) . Volume 3: number 6 has ink underlining (10 issues in volume). Volume 4: (11 issues in volume). Volume 5: numbers 5,6,7,9,10 ink underlining. A copy of volume 6, number 6 has been inserted in this book to take the place of the December issue, which would have been number 11. I have not been able to document a copy of volume 5 number 11, so it is possible that it was not printed. This book contains 10 issues in volume 5, one issue in volume 6. Volume 6: number 2 underlined a bit, and Eleanor Roosevelt's face is defaced with a red ink pen in two locations, with the word "pinko" on the cover (just in case you were wondering) , issues 6 & 7 also underlined. (11 issues in volume) Volume 7: number 2 is underlined. Two pages in issue 7 are folded (11 issues in volume). Volume 8: 2 pages in issue 7 folded (11 issues in volume). Volume 9: no underlining (11 volumes in issue).
